RNA biology & treatment resistance
We investigate how RNA-binding proteins and RNA regulation influence prostate cancer progression and the ability of tumour cells to adapt to therapy.

PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH · VANCOUVER, CANADA
We study how cancer cells adapt to treatment—and how that knowledge can guide new therapeutic strategies.

THE DONG LAB
Led by Dr. Xuesen Dong, our laboratory at the Vancouver Prostate Centre investigates the mechanisms that drive treatment resistance in prostate cancer. We bring together RNA biology, cancer research and computer-aided drug discovery to identify new ways to understand and target resistant disease.

Understanding cancer at the molecular level helps us ask better questions about detection and treatment.
We investigate how RNA-binding proteins and RNA regulation influence prostate cancer progression and the ability of tumour cells to adapt to therapy.
RNA regulation · Cancer progression
We connect computational approaches with experimental research to identify and study compounds that target cancer-associated molecular processes.
Molecular targets · Therapeutic discovery
We explore RNA-based biomarkers, including circular RNAs, to better understand prostate cancer and investigate opportunities for diagnosis.

OUR APPROACH
Why do tumours become resistant to treatment? Which molecular processes can we target? We investigate these questions by connecting computational analysis with laboratory experiments.
